What makes this machine different: charcoal is the compromise finish, in the
useful sense. Black shows dust and pale scuffs; mirror stainless shows fingerprints; charcoal pearl
grey shows neither particularly. On a site where the machine will be knocked by trolleys, cleaned by
a contractor and never really inspected, it is the finish that still looks acceptable in year three.
Umbrella Wrapper, Dual Chute
An umbrella wrapper puts a thin waterproof sleeve over a wet umbrella as the visitor pushes it
down into the chute. It is entirely mechanical. Nothing needs power, nothing needs resetting, and
nobody needs to be shown how it works.
This model runs two chutes at once, sized separately for folding and full-length umbrellas. Two
people can therefore be served in the same few seconds, which is what stops a queue building at the
door during the arrival rush.
Why the finish suits hard-use sites
The body is EGI colour-coated steel in pearl grey. The coating is applied over galvanised steel,
so it takes knocks without the bright scarring that a scratch leaves on polished stainless. The
mid-tone grey also hides the fine dust that settles on anything standing near an automatic door.
Two thousand bags loaded
Capacity is up to 2,000 bags across both chutes. For most buildings that is several weeks of
ordinary weather, so the machine is not a daily task for anyone. Top access means a refill takes
under a minute, and refill cartons ship from Australian stock.
The safety argument, briefly
Wet entrance flooring is where slip claims come from, and umbrellas are how the water gets there.
Taking it off the umbrella at the threshold removes the hazard at its source rather than managing it
afterwards with mops and signage. It also keeps entry mats usable instead of saturated by mid-morning.
