Commercial Umbrella Dryer Models Compared: Slimline Full, Slimline Half and Premium

Eco Wet Umbrella Dryer Premium, one of three commercial umbrella dryer models compared

Every umbrella dryer we sell to Australian businesses works the same way. A visitor pushes the wet umbrella into the slot, swipes it through soft microfibre pads and walks in without dripping water across the floor. It takes about 4 to 5 seconds per umbrella. There's no plug, no heater and no plastic bag.

So choosing between our three models comes down to practical things: how much floor space you have, what kind of umbrellas come through the door, whether the dryer stays out all year, and budget. This guide puts the Slimline Full Size, Slimline Half Size and Premium wet umbrella dryers side by side, with sizes and current prices, so you can see which one suits your building.

The three models side by side

Model Size (W x D x H) Build Best for Price (without / with branding)
Slimline Full Size 100 x 37 x 83 cm Stainless steel, silver or black powder coat Main entrances and large umbrellas $1,355 / $1,590
Slimline Half Size 58 x 37 x 83 cm Stainless steel, silver or black powder coat Small lobbies, side and staff entrances $1,090 / $1,285
Premium 94 x 30 x 80 cm Galvanised steel body, 304-grade stainless steel base, castor wheels Entrances where the dryer is moved or stored between wet spells $1,670 / $1,950

Prices are as listed on UmbrellaStation in October 2026. The With Branding price covers putting your logo or artwork on the dryer.

What all three have in common

None of them needs power, so the dryer can go right where the water comes in. You don't have to plan around a power point. All three use washable microfibre pads instead of disposable sleeves, which means there's nothing to restock when the rain starts.

All three can also be branded. In a hotel lobby or a corporate reception, a dryer carrying your logo looks like part of the fit-out instead of something that was added later.

Slimline Full Size: main entrances and large umbrellas

The Eco Wet Umbrella Dryer Slimline Full Size is our widest model, with a drying face 100 cm across. It's only 37 cm deep, so it sits close to a wall or beside a column without pushing out into the walkway.

This is the one for a building's main entrance, such as an office tower foyer, the front door of a hotel or a shopping centre entry. The extra width helps when visitors carry large golf umbrellas, and it gives you a bigger surface if you're adding a logo.

It comes in silver stainless steel or black with a powder-coated finish. The price is $1,355 without branding and $1,590 with it.

Slimline Half Size: small lobbies and side entrances

The Eco Wet Umbrella Dryer Slimline Half Size is the same design cut down to 58 cm wide. Height and depth stay the same at 83 cm high and 37 cm deep, so it takes up a little over half the wall space of the Full Size.

It's made for standard folding and walking umbrellas, which is what most people carry into a café, a medical clinic, a boutique hotel or a small reception area. It also suits a second door. If your building has more than one entrance, a Full Size or Premium at the front with a Half Size at the car park lift lobby or staff entry covers both without paying for two large units.

At $1,090 without branding ($1,285 with), it's the most affordable of the three dryers.

Premium: entrances where the dryer needs to move

The Eco Wet Umbrella Dryer Premium is built differently. It has a galvanised steel body on a 304-grade stainless steel base, weighs 28 kg and rolls on castor wheels. It also comes with a protective storage cover and a two-year manufacturer's warranty.

The castors are the main reason to pick it. If your entrance only needs a dryer in wet weather, staff can roll it out when the rain starts and wheel it back into a store room afterwards, with the cover on while it's put away. It's also the shallowest of the three at 30 cm deep, which helps in a narrow vestibule or where a door swings close to the wall.

To use it, visitors insert the umbrella and swipe it side to side through the pads. The pads attach with magnets, so they come off easily for washing. The Premium costs $1,670 without branding and $1,950 with it. It's slightly smaller than the Slimline Full Size (94 x 30 cm against 100 x 37 cm), so the extra cost covers the heavier build, the castors and the cover.

Choosing a model for your entrance

Before you order, check these things on site:

  1. Measure the spot. Mark the footprint on the floor with masking tape and stand where a visitor would. There needs to be room for someone to stop at the dryer without blocking the door or the people behind them.
  2. Look at the umbrellas. If people mostly arrive with compact folding umbrellas, the Half Size is enough. If you see a lot of golf umbrellas, go for the Full Size or the Premium.
  3. Decide whether it stays out. A dryer that lives at the door all year can be either Slimline. One that only comes out on wet days should be the Premium.
  4. Count your entrances. Water comes in through every door people use in the rain, car park lifts and staff entries included. Put the larger unit where most people arrive.
  5. Sort out branding early. Choose the With Branding option when you order, then send your logo and artwork to our team.

Running cost compared with umbrella bags

If you're replacing a bagging machine, the numbers are easy to work out. Our biodegradable umbrella bag refills cost $96 for 1,000 small bags, so each umbrella costs about 9.6 cents to bag. A dryer has no cost per umbrella at all.

At that rate, the price of a Half Size dryer ($1,090) equals roughly 11,350 bagged umbrellas. A Full Size ($1,355) is about 14,100, and a Premium ($1,670) about 17,400. To see what that means for your building, take the number of bags you use on a wet day and divide. An entrance that goes through 200 bags on a wet day covers the cost of a Half Size in about 57 wet days. That doesn't count the time staff spend refilling the machine. Washing the dryer's pads isn't counted either, though it's a small job.

There's more on this in our cost comparison of umbrella bags and reusable dryers. If you're still weighing up the two approaches, see wet umbrella dryers vs bagging machines.

Looking after the dryer

Care is light on all three models. Wash the microfibre pads regularly during wet spells so they keep absorbing well, and empty any water that collects in the Slimline models. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth now and then. There's no wiring to check and nothing to restock.

Common questions

Do umbrella dryers need electricity?

No. All three models are manual. The visitor's swipe does the work, so you don't need a power point near the entrance.

How long does it take to dry an umbrella?

About 4 to 5 seconds per umbrella.

Which umbrella dryer suits a small lobby?

The Slimline Half Size. It's 58 cm wide and 37 cm deep, and it's made for standard folding and walking umbrellas.

Which model can be moved around?

The Premium. It has castor wheels and comes with a storage cover, so it's the one to choose if the dryer will go in and out with the weather.

Can we put our logo on the dryer?

Yes. Every model has a With Branding option. Order that version, then contact us with your logo and artwork.

You can see all three on our umbrella dryers page. If you're not sure which one fits your entrance, send us a photo and the measurements through our contact page and we'll recommend a model.
